Monarch

I have mixed feelings on this book. I didn't know it was the second book in the series, so I was happy to note there wasn't too much overlap and I don't feel like I messed up reading book 2 first. I liked the first 80% of the book. The book was engaging and as the plot developed and the plot thickened, I liked it. However, I wasn't a fan of one of the tropes used (personal taste), and the ending felt very abrupt. I don't think I'll read it again, which is why it became a 3 star and not a 4.
